IT admins told us they needed simplified IT management experience for Surface. To address this, we introduced the Surface Management Portal for Intune customers and the Hardware Support Portal for Microsoft 365 users. Today, we're unveiling updates for both.

These enhancements aim to further facilitate the hardware management tasks that IT professionals conduct daily with Surface devices.

What’s updated:

  • Warranty for accessories: Centralize your warranty claims. File claims not only for Surface devices but also for other Microsoft and Surface accessories all within the same portal.
  • Optimized bulk warranty claims: Elevate your efficiency. You can now attach up to 100 devices in a single bulk warranty claim.
  • Offline estimations: Process out-of-warranty service requests more seamlessly. Download a PDF estimate, making it easier for offline approvals 1
  • Your feedback matters: Help us grow and adapt to your needs. Share feedback directly in the portal, shaping our future improvements.

Coming next week:

  • Sustainability: We're embedding the Surface Emissions Estimator into the Surface Management Portal. No more toggling between sites. Soon, the Emissions Estimator will also consider the devices in the Surface Management Portal to offer a more customized reporting experience.
  • Global expansion: We're broadening our horizons. Both portals will soon be accessible in a host of new markets, including China, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Stay tuned for more updates as we strive to provide IT admins with the tools they need to manage their Surface devices effectively. If you haven't started using these portals yet, check out Microsoft Learn.

I have a client's Surface Pro 5 which has many problems.
    1. He formatted his SSD, and now there are no bootable operating system error displays.

    2. He forgets the surface UEFI password so he can't access uefi settings.

    3. His surface device firmware issue. there are only a few 4 options available. there are no options to allow booting from USB.

So please help me out. I am his technical support person. I have my own business and I handle to his company all IT support solutions. He does not want to send this device anywhere to service support. So please suggest to me how to solve it myself through any tools or utility. I am eagerly waiting for your reply. Please reply me to email address removed for privacy reasons.

    Thanking you,

    Regards
