Migrating Data from SharePoint Space to Mesh
I just found out that SharePoint Space is being depreciated. The replacement is Mesh for 3D call environments.... So I have SharePoint Space that I would like to preserve. It's for employees to tour...
Take this:
- Is Mesh standalone or included in MS 365? Is there an extra charge? Mesh is included in Microsoft 365 and Office 365 commercial subscriptions that have a Teams license. There is also a standalone offering of Teams Essentials for small and medium-sized business customers or Teams Enterprise for enterprise customers.
- Is there a simple way to migrate SharePoint Space data to Mesh? Currently, there is no direct migration tool available to move SharePoint Space data to Mesh. However, you can manually recreate the 3D environments in Mesh by exporting the assets from SharePoint Space and importing them into Mesh.
- Are there other alternatives besides Mesh? Yes, there are several alternatives to Microsoft Mesh for creating shared immersive experiences. Some of these alternatives include GlarAssist, Campfire, and holo|one.
This is a helpful answer. Thank you so much. Just to clarify, I will have to build the entire environment all over again correct? And by "export" assets like 360 photos. I have to migrate them from one folder to another?
