Many users, including myself, have encountered persistent issues using Bluetooth headsets with Microsoft Teams, particularly in the desktop app. Common problems include: Audio Output Problems: Low audio quality or no audio at all. Microphone Issues: The microphone does not function consistently or at all. Connection Drops: Devices disconnect unexpectedly during or after breakout sessions. Specific Trigger Points: These issues are often limited to Teams and do not occur in other applications. Notable Observations: Disabling the "Handsfree Telephony" service on the headset in Windows resolves many of these problems but renders the headset as a simple audio output device, necessitating an external microphone. The issues seem prevalent across various brands (e.g., Jabra, Poly Voyager, Sony, Bose) These issues are frustrating, especially since they are less frequent in other apps like Zoom or on the Teams web app. It seems related to how Teams interacts with Bluetooth profiles (A2DP vs. HFP) and prioritizes them during meetings. Action for the Community: To help Microsoft prioritize this issue, I’ve submitted detailed feedback on the Microsoft Teams Feedback Portal. If you’re experiencing similar problems, I encourage you to upvote and comment on the feedback to bring more visibility to this matter. This just started happening recently. When I am chatting with someone and I use the GIF icon to attach a gif, I see the gif just fine until I post the message, at which time the gif goes away and is replaced by a link titled "Sent a GIF". Clicking on the link takes me to the image on giphy.com. The person I'm chatting with sees it fine. Is there a setting for this somewhere? Why is this happening?Solved101KViews7likes46CommentsNative Teams Phone - Background Image
Hello all, Recently Our org. have purchased a few Native Teams Desk phone Poly CCX600 & Conference Trio C60. It appears the default Teams background image, which looks almost blank, after signing in the phone. I followed up the background image document provided by the vendor Poly without luck. Is anyway to modify the background image on these native Teams phones? Your information and support are highly appreciated. I have a few users that are using the Lists app in Microsoft Teams to track information and have a multi-line text column with enhanced rich text enabled. When a user enables dark mode in Microsoft Teams and fills out the field, it automatically sets the text color to white instead of changing how black text is presented on the screen. This is causing issues for their teammates because the white text shows on a white background for users with the default color settings in Teams. Are there any workaround recommendations other than: Turn off the enhanced rich text on the column Request that users don't use dark mode in Teams Have the dark mode users interact with the List from a browser that isn't using dark mode Here's a similar post from about a year ago - Microsoft Lists Enhanced Rich Text is not compatible with Teams' - Microsoft Community2.3KViews5likes4CommentsActivity reminder in Shifts tab?
Hi guys, Does anyone know if we can add a reminder to an activity during a shift in the shifts tab? Preferably so that this comes up as a notification via the app for whoever's shift it is? New to Teams and looking to roll this out across the team but want to make sure everything we need is available before doing so. TIA, M7.1KViews0likes4CommentsTeams Apps (MS apps) use First Name instead of Display Name
Some apps in Teams use an accounts First Name value instead of their Display Name value. We've also found that Microsoft Forms does this, too (but that's for another discussion). For example, the Games for Work app in Teams is a Microsoft Corp app and it uses the First Name value. Here is the issue a user brought to us: What if this is a member of the LGBTQ2+ community and using the First Name value makes them feel "outed"? Is there a way for us to force the apps (the Microsoft apps in particular) to use Display Name (as this is what we want everyone to see) instead of First Name? I know the first solution is to change it in AD, but we can't do that because our First Name and Last Name values in AD are synced from Oracle (HR system) where we must use birth / legal name. I have let the user know that in order to change First/Last Name values, they'd have to provide legal paperwork to HR about an actual name change. But does Microsoft have a way of forcing/requesting/defaulting Teams apps to use Display Name instead of First Name? For example, say we have a user whose Display Name is Taylor Smith and their First Name value is Timothy, Last Name value is Smith. In the Games for Work app, it uses Timothy (First Name).14KViews2likes6CommentsHow to Drag and Drop Messages from Outlook to Teams Channels
Teams supports several methods to import email. Outlook for Windows can drag and drop messages into Teams conversations. It’s a quick and easy way to move the focus of a conversation, but there are some downsides to be aware of. https://office365itpros.com/2021/04/19/drag-email-outlook-teams/13KViews0likes2Comments
