Hello, I bought 3 mounths ago the SB 3 15" with I7 ,but during the normal use of the Computer I noted that randomically the system doesn't respond to external command of the mouse, touchpad or keyboard for 4-5 second, seems a sort of blocking of the windows . I already used the toolkit to update the system but nothing is changed. Do you have any king of suggestion about this issue? Thanks in advance P.34Views0likes0CommentsSurface Book will not recognize itself as a Surface and will not install drivers
I bought a used unit of Surface Book that doesn't recognize itself as a Surface device. In the System Properties it identifies as "OEMCH Product". It will not install drivers and has 18 unrecognized devices in Device Manager. One of them is the camera. I tried to install the official driver pack but the installer will say this is not a Surface device and abort. I even tried to use a 3rd party driver installer but that BSODed the Windows and I had to reinstall it. I ran out of ideas, other than try to find individual drivers, if it's even possible. Any help would be welcome.201Views0likes0CommentsSurface Book 3 doesn't respond to cursor clicks
I have a two year old Surface Book 3 and the cursor moves around fine but several times a day the computer will randomly stop responding to cursor clicks. It doesn't matter what I'm trying to click or whether I'm using the built-in touchpad or a wireless mouse. The only solution is to lock/unlock or sleep/wake the laptop. The drivers and firmware are completely up-to-date and the diagnostics don't show any problems. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Found a solution?276Views0likes0CommentsSurface Book is not entering bios

So it isn't Vivaldi doing this. Last night it happened in the Qobuz music app. I tapped a track to play, and got a stripe of the faded-center dots across the screen - the position of the Vivaldi dot, plus lots more to the left of it. No zooming in Qobuz, the app was just totally locked up, and nothing touch could do would escape. I brought over my keyboard and mouse. Qobuz remained locked up, but everything else worked, and the dots remained visible. I didn't see this in Vivaldi without a mouse, but there was a cursor stuck over the rightmost dot, in addition to the actively moving cursor. (The image is from a bit of phone video - screenshots didn't show either cursor.) The dots remained visible when I switched users, but the stuck cursor pointed to a different one: They stayed visible through the entire shutdown process, even over the colored screens with the shutdown steps. And when Windows came back, my taskbar was extra wide and locked. As before, nothing in Windows logs, or Qobuz log. Could this be a GPU problem? Qobuz uses it, but I've set Vivaldi not to. At least I think I have... The "GPU Process" still shows, but it is ~50 MB instead of ~500 MB. I think Windows is out of control...3.2KViews0likes5CommentsCan LTSC 2019 run perfectly on surface book 3
As the title says, I'd like to know if LTSC 2019 will run perfectly on a Surface book 3, such as install the required drivers, and be able to use the Surface's features, such as the separation of the keyboard from the screen, or touch support. In this website,https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-supported-operating-systems-9559cc3c-7a38-31b6-d9fb-571435e84cd1#bkmk_surfacebook it is shown that surface book 3 supports OS version 1903 and above, and LTSC is based on 1809, so I want to ask524Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Surface with Maxim Integrated Power Meter
I am in the process of running some experiments of measuring energy consumption of software, and to this I have found that the Maxim Integrated Power Meter should be very accurate. This issue is that it is very difficult to find out which Surface devices has this chip. The ones I have found so far include: Surface Book Surface Book 2 Surface Pro 3 Surface Studio Ideally, I would like a newer device, but I am unable to confirm if they have it. So, my question is: What is the newest computer which has this chip? If your surface is up to date, and the Maxim drivers are up to date (Maxim driver support) you should be able to see a sensor named "Maxim Power Meter" inside the Device Manager. All help is appreciated!1.4KViews0likes0CommentsSurface Books crashing when using camera
We have about 800+ Surface Books on campus, mixture of Surface Book 2s and 3s. So far I've had three Surface Book 3 users chime in with camera issues. One is stating that camera is crashing while on Teams, the other two are stating camera issues when trying to use the camera as a camera. Any of you seeing this with your Books?1KViews0likes1CommentSurface dock randomly stops charging Surface Book(s)
So I've been encountering this here and there and have no rhyme or reason or resolution yet. Say I have to move a user's equipment to a new spot (dock, power, laptop etc.) After moving and hooking up everything, normally during that 1st or 2nd week in the new spot they will report that their laptop just alerted them of like 3% battery and that its not charging even though its been being used and on the dock. Everything else plugged into the dock are working fine so they dont notice its not charging until its too late. The light on the dock part plugged into the Surface Book is active and all. Undocking and re-docking does not fix it, rebooting the machine does not fix it. Only unplugging the docking power and plugging into a different outlet will get it to start working, every time. In the beginning i've installed and verified it has the most up to date dock firmware, swapping out docks will obviously "fix" the issue for that situation but its not a full fix moving forward. I've tried different kinds of surge protectors (thinking that was it). But this will still happen, either if they dock at a different dock (other then their own) or i just had a few users a week ago that this happened to and they have been at their spots for months or close to a year! I have no idea what is going on! We only use the Surface Dock gen 1's784Views1like0CommentsSurface Book
