Did Copilot disappoint you recently? Who has never complained about Copilot responses? Myself included. You know that moment when you try to get a good Copilot response, and all you get is vague one? Yep. Been there. It’s Not You, It's not Copilot either, It's Your Prompt People tend to treat Copilot like a search engine, but Copilot isn’t a search engine. I know it feels like it should be—type in your query, get a polished answer. Here's the deal: Copilot (and all other LLMs) work with recognizing patterns and context based on your prompts. Copilot does not retrieve information, but generates answers. Copilot relies on the context and specificity of your prompts to generate useful responses. That means vague, lazy prompts are setting it up to give vague responses. If you want great output, you need great input. So let’s talk about how to give Copilot the kind of prompt it can actually work with. 10 Quick Fixes to Boost Your Copilot Responses Write clear prompts: ❌ “Make it better” → ✅ “Summarize in 3 points” Be specific: ❌ “Write an email” → ✅ “Draft a friendly reminder email for project deadline” Be direct: ❌ “Could you try to…” → ✅ “Generate a bulleted list of main takeaways” Give context: ❌ “Draft an email” → ✅ “Draft a response to the client email /<youremail> to apologyse for the delivery delays” Divide to conquer: ❌ “Write a report” → ✅ “Outline the report in sections: intro, analysis, and conclusion” Choose wisely: ❌ Copilot is not equal Copilot. → ✅ Understand the differences between M365 Copilot Chat and M365 Copilot and learn when to use what. Try rephrasing: ❌ “Try again” → ✅ “Rephrase the sentence” Sometimes, a small word change makes a big difference. Iterate: Unhappy? ✅ If your plan A did not work, go for plan B. You can start a new chat, adjust your initial prompt, and try again! Include web content when relevant: ✅ Enrich your Copilot responses with web content. Toggle on web content like this: Click on the 3 elipses on the top, right corner of Copilot chat in Work mode. Give it another shot! ✅ LLMs are evolving quickly. While their names sound similar at first glance - Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat - they differ in several aspects. And more importantly, one can't be without another. What is Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat? First since first. Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat is also called Copilot Chat. Copilot Chat generates answers based on web content, while Microsoft 365 Copilot is also grounded on users' data, like emails, meetings, files, and more. Since January 15, Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat is available for everyone. Everyone in organizations. Also customers with a Microsoft 365 Business Basic subscriptions can enjoy using Copilot Chat securily. The screenshot below shows how Copilot Chat looks like and highlights its main capabilities. Note that EDP - Enterprise Data Protection is available. What is Microsoft 365 Copilot? Microsoft 365 Copilot is an add-on available for specific Microsoft 365 Subscriptions: Microsoft 365 E3, E5, A3, A5, and Business Standard & Premium. It includes Copilot Chat in addition to other Copilot features: Microsoft 365 Copilot also includes a chat grounded on users' meetings, emails, chats, and documents. It integrates into Microsoft 365 apps, like Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and more. It brings the capability to create agents and additional Copilot management features such as SharePoint Advanced Management and Copilot Dashboard. Copilot Chat can be pinned in MS Teams and MS Outlook as App. How can I access Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat? Copilot Chat is nowadays accessible via m365copilot.com using your Entra account. In contrast to Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users, Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat users cannot see, by default, Copilot Chat pinned on the Microsoft 365 homepage. Microsoft 365 Copilot Administrators will have to pin the chat in the admin center so it is easy for Copilot Chat users to access it. What's the difference? There are some aspects, such as licensing requirements, subscription fees, data sources, or access to organization content, that determine the differences between Copilot Chat and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Microsoft copilot stops while giving a response.
Why is this happening? Is there a solution for this? It just stops while giving response. And it has happened several times. And you can't even give prompt to continue from there. You should restart it. Does anyone have a solution for this? and I have restarted and reinstalled it 1000 times.
Copilot Agent - Pass uploaded attachments to Power Automate
I have an agent with a topic which asks the user to upload photos. I stored these photos in a file variable. My idea is to trigger an HTTP Request which triggers a Power Automate flow and manipulates the files as needed. Has anyone successfully achieved triggering a flow and passing any information? Not seeing information or guides on this issue specifically. I currently receive a 403 Forbidden error on my attempts at a POST HTTP Request.Welcome to the Microsoft 365 Copilot community 😊!

Hi, I have installed copilot on iphone. While logging in using the 'Microsoft Account', it shows me 4 accounts. One of them is my personal account and two are my office accounts. But then it shows me a third hotmail.com that I don't recognize at all. I have cleared any cache from Chrome Safari or Edge. I have also paused and started the syncing of 'Passwords' to iCloud. But nothing has helped. Please help. I am sure this falls under the Security and Compliance category and should be seriously looked into. Thanks, Chandan
Having Copilot agent talk to on-prem SQL and answer questions
I am trying to see if it is possible to create a Copilot agent that can take a natural language question and pass it to on-prem SQL server as a query and then respond with an answer. For example, if I ask "What was the total sales last month?", I want Copilot to answer "$50,000" or something like that from the on-prem database and table(s) I specified beforehand. I have a Microsoft Graph Connector (MS SQL Server) that is connected to an on-prem SQL server via a Graph Connector agent. The Graph Connector can access the SQL data and index it. I have added the Graph Connector as knowledge source in Copilot agent. However, the agent does not seem to be able to answer questions using the data. Instead, it only suggests a generic SQL query that does not reference the database name or the table name. Is what I'm trying to do with Copilot possible? Thank you.
