Hi all, today I am testing, how to use AIP (1.27.48.0) with Windows 7 Enterprise (all Updates, SP1) and Office 2010 (all Updates, SP2). In this connection I can´t protect (with Azure Vault Key), but I can label the documents. Example: V1 = Internal with Label (check, worked) V2 = secure with Label and Azure Vault Key (no, error) Install with Admin rights. Local Admin rights on the Windows 7 Enterprise VM. Solution & testing: 1. Give Adminrights to the Application; result: The application don´t open anymore. 2. new installation 3. reboot 4. change the lables Error 1: via right click 2: via Word tested: Word, PowerPoint, Excel Any ideas? Bug or Feature to Install Windows 10 🙂University RUB #Germany Paper - How break microsoft right Management services
Hi all, I found this paper about RMS: http://www.ei.rub.de/forschung/veroeffentlichungen/how-break-microsoft-rights-management-services/ "Abstract Rights Management Services (RMS) are used to enforce access control in a distributed environment, and to cryptographically protect companies’ assets by restricting access rights, for example, to view-only, edit, print, etc., on a per-document basis. One of the most prominent RMS implementations is Microsoft RMS. It can be found in Active Directory (AD) and Azure. Previous research concentrated on generic weaknesses of RMS, but did not present attacks on real world systems. We provide a security analysis of Microsoft RMS and present two working attacks: (1.) We completely remove the RMS protection of a Word document on which we only have a view-only permission, without having the right to edit it. This shows that in contrast to claims made by Microsoft, Microsoft RMS can only be used to enforce all-or-nothing access. (2.) We extend this attack to be stealthy in the following sense: We show how to modify the content of an RMS write-protected Word document issued by our victim. The resulting document still claims to be write protected, and that the modified content was generated by the victim. We show that these attacks are not limited to local instances of Microsoft AD, and can be extended to Azure RMS and Office 365. We responsibly disclosed our findings to Microsoft. They acknowledged our findings (MSRC Case 33210)." Does someone have any Information about it? Is there a solution? Does Microsoft solve the issue? Any new Information? Thank you very much! Best regards RaphaelYour frist experiences?
I am working with RMS and now with the Azure Information Protection in a private and enterprise sector. In my opinion the new documentation is really great (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/). How do you start a AIP project? Can you explain your issues? I am working with a special topic in European dataprivacy and datasecurity, but I think we can have a worldwide discussion about AIP and the daily work with it.Re: Azure Information Protection , Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, Office 2010 Sp2 - protection does not work
I found or didn´t find the issue. After two weeks and a switching of policies and labels it worked. I can reproduce the issue on other VMs and after 1 Week it works. Bu this time issue isn´t the right one for an enterprise company :) I will make a small research project about it. I happend only with Windows 7.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Azure Information Protection , Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, Office 2010 Sp2 - protection does not work
Office Professional Pro Plus - single product, VLC I found in the documentation, that I need Sp2. I made a double check and try to install the SP2 manually. The result of this: "You don´t need any Updates. SP2 is installed". Does someone know the encryption level of the connection between the Microsoft licensing server and the client PC? The server needs in a first step some personal information and in the second and next steps the security token of the client PC.nFor the connection and the transmission between the client PC with Office Pro Plus and the Microsoft server we need a encryption.
