How Microsoft 365 Copilot Tenants Benefit from SharePoint Advanced Management

At Ignite 2024, Microsoft said that Copilot for Microsoft 365 tenants would benefit from SharePoint Advanced Management (SAM). What does that mean? Well, it doesn’t mean that Copilot tenants get SAM licenses, which is what many expect. It does mean that SAM checks for Copilot before it lets tenants use some, but not all, of its features.     Thanks for the clarification, TonyRedmond​ . I believe, like many others, I was under the impression that having a Copilot license would automatically grant access to the features in SAM.

    Microsoft 365 Copilot tenants benefit from SharePoint Advanced Management by gaining enhanced control, security, and insights into their content, which helps ensure the data used by Copilot is well-governed, properly labeled, and securely shared.

      Thanks for the advertisement on behalf of Microsoft. SAM can certainly add value, providing a tenant needs its capabiiities. I wouldn't be so brave as to assert that all Copilot tenants can benefit from SAM. After all, some well-managed tenants do exist without the benefit of SAM.
